I remember there were tremendous cases here when foreign players did it, but I must say the English players have learnt very quickly and are maybe the masters now.

"I don't encourage my players to dive. That is down to the referees and I think that sometimes, at normal speed, it is very hard to determine". They extend a little bit the rules.

"I think he wanted to say that tricking your opponent, you have to be clever", Wenger said of Pochettino's comments on diving.

Petr Cech is a major doubt for Saturday's north London derby after picking up a calf injury during Arsenal's 5-1 win against Everton at the weekend.

While mistakes have begun to creep into Petr Cech's game, Lloris remains undisputedly one of the finest keepers in the country.

Cech's absence will be a blow to Arsenal, however, they do have more positive news on Monreal as the Telegraph claim the defender is expected to be available for the trip to Wembley on Saturday lunchtime. It is the first time Wenger has taken Arsenal to play Spurs at Wembley, a ground where the Gunners traditionally thrive, winning the FA Cup final in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

"We feel we have a good level of performance at Wembley, but it will all come down to the day", said Wenger.

Monreal was substituted at half-time during Arsenal's win over Everton but the newspaper says it was only due to illness so the Spaniard is set to recover in time to face Spurs.

Wenger called on his players to "find a balance between being rational and emotional" and added: "It's always a game that is a bit more emotionally charged because of the importance it has for us, the fans and everyone around the club".
