YouTube Suspends Advertising On Logan Paul's Channels After Dead Rat Video

YouTube star Logan Paul is under scrutiny yet again for a video posted to his channel this week showing him using a stun gun on dead rats

It looks like YouTube has finally (finally) chose to hold Logan Paul accountable for the horrifying video he posted on New Year's Eve that featured a man who had died by suicide in Japan's Aokigahara forest. Paul then made a decision to change his tune to help people and set out on a suicide awareness campaign with serious videos, but now YouTube has completely pulled advertising from his channel after he posted videos about Tide Pods and using a Taser on dead rats.

In this highly-contested video, Paul can be seen using tasers on dead rats, while also removing a koi fish from a pond and placing it on the ground as an act of animal torture.

YouTube announced on Friday that it would be temporarily suspending all advertisements from Paul's channel due to his content's continual problematic nature.

In an emailed statement, YouTube said that the videos on Paul's channels are also "broadly damaging to the broader creator community".

Paul is one of the highest-profile stars YouTube has sanctioned so far.

Now, just a week after his return and a month after the Suicide Forest video, Paul is back to his disgusting antics. (The tweet appears to have been deleted.) Both instances are examples of why Paul's videos are unfit to run ads, according to YouTube.

It's unclear how long the ads will be suspended. YouTube has always been known as a home for edgy videos filled with pranks and potentially offensive content, made in the name of comedy or freedom of expression.

Paul then returned with a new video where he talked about turning over a new leaf, becoming a much better and mature human being, and he even raised awareness for suicide and mental health. He will post the interview on Monday.

YouTube's CEO recently promised to enforce the website's policies in a more effective manner with the help of 10,000 curators and advanced video detection technology.

Phillip DeFranco, another YouTube personality with over 6 million subscribers, who hosts a political news show, took to Twitter to voice his concerns with Paul.

YouTube said his actions could "damage" the wider video-making community. The video streaming platform also removed Paul from their Preferred Ad Program shortly after Paul deleted the video from the Japanese forest.
