Russian man duped US spies of USD 100000

US spies reportedly paid $100K to Russian operative who claimed to have dirt on Trump

US spies reportedly paid $100K to Russian operative who claimed to have dirt on Trump

"I hope people are now seeing and understanding what is going on here".

A Russian, who has allegedly been acting as a middleman for the Russians and the Americans, sought payment for information he was offering.

Trump's tweet on Saturday said, "It is all starting to come out".

Judicial Watch is a right-wing advocacy group that has been accused of peddling unfounded conspiracy theories about Democrats, according to Bloomberg.

In a story worthy of a John le Carre novel that included secret USB-drive handovers in a small Berlin bar and coded messages delivered over the National Security Agency's Twitter account, CIA agents spent much of a year ago trying to buy back from the Russians hacking programs stolen from the NSA, the Times reported.

According to the Times on Friday, the Russian took the money but failed to turn over the stolen material or the dirt on Trump. The deal would also include stolen National Security Agency cyberweapons, according to American and European intelligence officials.

While the American spies desired the stolen NSA documents, they apparently said that they did not want the dirt on Trump because of the Russian's "murky ties to Russian intelligence and to Eastern European cybercriminals".

The materials were stolen in 2017 by a group which calls itself Shadow Brokers.

In the end, the deal broke down last month - the Russian did not come up with any of the unreleased NSA materials, and the Trump-related materials were either already known or untrustworthy. The Russian agreed to provide the entirety of the Shadow Broker's stolen tools in exchange for money, and the USA government decided on "certain messaging techniques" that would be used to let the Russian know the deal was authorized by Uncle Sam, according to The Intercept.

He actually tried to once, as he handed a short video clip showing a man talking to two women over to a Berlin-based American businessman who was communicating on behalf of the United States intelligence agents, but failed to verify it was actually the American President. Fusion GPS, the company tasked with the work, also took money from Russian Federation while the document was being compiled by a British ex-spy who was being given most of his information from sources with Kremlin ties.

The Times reported that the Russian, early in the negotiations, dropped the asking price from $10 million to $1 million for the cyber tools and the Trump-related information.

The CIA worked through an American businessman to "preserve deniability", the Times reported.

Trump has also said he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin when he denies Russian interference in the election.

The newspaper reported that several American intelligence officials said their only objective was to obtain the cyberweapons and not the information on Trump.
