Trump says he's 'exact opposite' of book

The president's tweet was part an aggressive effort by the White House to discredit Woodward's forthcoming book, "Fear", which paints a harrowing portrait of the Trump presidency, based on in-depth interviews with administration officials and others.

The White House is a "crazytown" ruled by plots, paranoia and power-trips, according to a new book by veteran reporter Bob Woodward.

The White House plans to keep moving forward and "ticking off things on [Trump's] agenda", she told Fox News.

She went on to list the Trump administration's accomplishments. The Associated Press obtained a copy of "Fear: Trump in the White House" on Tuesday, a week before its official release.

One of the main claims is that current and former aides kept sensitive documents off his desk to prevent him from signing them, or took different actions to those demanded by the president.

"No, it's - it's going to be accurate, I promise", Woodward said.

In the book, Trump blasts Giuliani after he appears on Sunday talk shows to defend then-candidate Trump in the wake of the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape.

"I'm a Southerner, people can judge my intellect, my IQ, by my product and what I produce rather than what somebody else says", Sen. "When are you going to be a man?"

Trump has said he has buyer's remorse about Sessions because the attorney general recused himself from the Russian Federation investigation. The author detailed how the White House rebuffed his requests for an interview with the president. Johnny Isakson of Georgia said, according to The Post. Dowd, who stepped down in January, resigned after the mock interview, the book says. "It's either that or an orange jumpsuit".

Later, Trump himself joined in with a Twitter post that called the anecdotes circulating from the Woodward book "frauds, a con on the public".

Mattis is described as among those in the administration who grew exasperated with Trump's limited intelligence; he complained that Trump has the understanding of a "fifth- or sixth-grader", according to Woodward.

Mattis said in a statement, "The contemptuous words about the President attributed to me in Woodward's book were never uttered by me or in my presence".

"Look, I can't get into the internal deliberations", Sanders said of the decision not to do an interview with Woodward.

"Let's [expletive] kill him!"

U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley denied Tuesday that Trump had ever planned to assassinate Assad.

"Well, accurate is that nobody's ever done a better job than I'm doing as president", Trump responded.

"[Trump] would make fun of her voice", a person who worked on the show's set said to The Beast.

For example, according to the reports, former White House economic adviser Gary Cohn stole a letter off Trump's desk to keep him from formally withdrawing from the US trade deal with South Korea.

"But just sitting down with Bob Woodward, Sarah?"

Trump claimed he "never used those terms on anyone", but audio recordings from previous interviews prove otherwise.

"I was criticized in one magazine, where the writer was retarded", Trump said at the time.

Woodward's book also cites sources reporting Kelly once described Trump during a meeting as "an idiot", adding that it's pointless to try to convince him of anything because he had gone off the rails. "Maybe I wasn't given messages that he called". "I think it probably wouldn't have made a difference in the book".

Woodward's latest book, Fear, is focused on the Trump White House and is set to be officially released on September 11.
