Over the weekend, the US also announced it was closing the Palestinians' de facto embassy in Washington, deepening Palestinian anger and mistrust.

Then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson deemed the PLO responsible for violating a provision in USA law that prohibits the group from trying to get the International Criminal Court to prosecute Israelis for crimes against Palestinians.

When George W. Bush took office in 2001, his administration promoted and passed the American Service Members Protection Act, which sought to immunize US troops from potential prosecution by the ICC.

The U.S. has announced it is ending its decades of funding for the United Nations agency that helps Palestinian refugees, slashing bilateral U.S. aid for projects in the West Bank and Gaza and cutting funding to hospitals in Jerusalem that serve Palestinians.

The move comes a day after the USA closed the Palestinian de facto embassy in Washington because of its leaders' refusal to enter peace talks with Israel.

President Donald Trump is closing the Palestine Liberation Organization's mission in Washington, the latest USA blow against the Palestinians and an global court during the stalled Mideast peace process.

"The United States made the right decision to close the PLO offices", Netanyahu said.

Palestinian activists have set up five shipping containers near a Bedouin hamlet to protest the expected razing of the West Bank encampment by Israel, AP reported Tuesday.

Allegedly Bolton plans to announce that despite the decision, Trump is still committed to negotiating a peace plan between the Israelis and the Palestinians. He also added that they would accredit their funds in United States financial system and will indict them in the USA criminal system.

Husam Zomlot, head of the PLO mission in Washington, told journalists in Ramallah that the closure was "to protect Israel from war crimes, crimes against humanity that Israel is committing in the occupied Palestinian territories". Khan al-Ahmar is situated outside Jerusalem between two Israeli settlements.

Over the weekend, it announced it would cut $25 million in assistance for hospitals in east Jerusalem that provide critical care to Palestinian patients.

Wisma Putra in the statement said such moves by the U.S. government weakened the multilateral system; ignored the reality on the ground; supported and helped to perpetuate Israel's brutal policies which contravened worldwide law; and violated the rights of the Palestinian people.

Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) called the measure a "New Year's gift" to Israel and the Jewish people.
