Black Mirror Season 5 Reportedly Arriving In December | News

Two of the four previous seasons of Black Mirror have debuted in December, including the most recent six episodes.

Netflix decline to comment, other than to direct me to a YouTube video of crickets chirping and an animated GIF of Titus Andromedon casting a spell. Prepare to feel not just hollow and gut-punched at the end of that episode, as usual with Black Mirror, but complicit in the likely disturbing outcomes of your actions. After watching one version, the viewer can go back and choose the alternate scenario. You won't even have to get in the director's chair or set foot in the writer's room to have total control over the storyline.

Interactive television sounds like a good idea, until you come to a show like BoJack Horseman. There's still no official announcement on when Black Mirror is returning for another batch of "technology is good, but it's also bad" episodes, but according to a report from Bloomberg, it will probably be before the end of the year.

If Netflix wants interactive TV to take off it will need wider support. The company will reportedly release the first of these projects later this year.

Black Mirror is one of the most experimental and interesting shows on TV and it could be about to blow our minds in a whole new way. The show is based on an adventure game from Telltale Games (which recently laid off a vast majority of its staff) in which players were faced with tough decisions about how to proceed on a treacherous journey through the world of Minecraft.

Dramas such as Black Mirror are filled with characters caught up in grim moral debates, forced to make gripping decisions created to make you wonder what you'd do in their (usually dire) place.

We're excited, and scared...and we don't know whether to run away screaming or wait up and binge watch as we essentially become our own episode of Black Mirror.
