Los Angeles will take on Colorado for the NL West title Monday, one of two one-game playoffs that day in the National League.

The rookie right-hander dominated the Rockies for 6 ⅔ innings in the National League West division tiebreaker game at Dodger Stadium. The victor will be National League West Division Champs and host the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS on Thursday, while the loser gets the wild card and will play the loser of the Chicago Cubs-Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Game on Tuesday. The 5-2 victory sends the Rockies to Chicago for the Wild Card against the Cubs, as the Dodgers will get to enjoy the friendly confines of Chavez Ravine for the rest of the week.

Marquez is 14-10 with a 3.76 ERA and 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in five starts against the Dodgers.

After moving to Los Angeles, the Dodgers did win a best-of-three series against the Milwaukee Braves for the 1959 pennant, but three years later, it was the Giants again who stood in the way.

The Dodgers are facing off Monday afternoon with the Colorado Rockies in a tie-breaker game at Dodger Stadium to determine the National League West champion.

First baseman Max Muncy followed with another two-run homer off of Marquez in the fifth to help the Dodgers put the game out of reach. Travis Shaw added a solo homer for Milwaukee, which finished the 162-game schedule on a seven-game winning streak. They didn't advance a runner past second base until the ninth when Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story homered back-to-back off closer Kenley Jansen. Tyler Anderson was wonderful on the mound, pitching 7.2 innings of shutout baseball while giving up only four hits. They faced the Brewers in the tiebreaker game at Wrigley Field and lost 3-1.

The Dodgers' fourth-inning rally started with a small Rockies mistake that mushroomed into a gigantic one.

"I don't know how to say this politically correct, but he's got big balls", Kershaw said, according to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times. His last game against Colorado came on September 19, where he went six innings and struck out 12 batters.

Allen Webster (1-0), the first of eight Chicago relievers after Mike Montgomery was pulled in the third, got two outs for the win.

Marquez gave up four runs - two earned - and five hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Bellinger got the scoring started with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth, his 25th home run of the season. CarGo has had a nice bounce-back season after last year's season to forget.
