Fans were ecstatic after seeing cricketer Virat Kohli's record-breaking performance at the India Vs West Indies ODI match in Vizag on Wednesday. While Tendulkar took 259 innings to reach the landmark, Kohli achieved it in just 205 innings, which is 54 quicker than the Master Blaster.

"King" Kohli comfortably bettered the record set by the man who was to Indian cricket for over two decades what the 29-year-old has been for the past few years.

Check out our slideshow to find out who are the 11 other batsmen to have scored 10,000-plus runs in the 50-overs format - in order of how many matches it took for them to reach the milestone.

Kohli also broke Tendulkar's record to become the fastest Indian player to 24 Test centuries with his hundred against West Indies in the first Test in Rajkot at the start of October.

"I am at a loss of words to describe Virat Kohli's performance".

Virat Kohli walks out, he makes centuries, he breaks records. India were at a hard position in Guwahati, but Kohli led the team out of troubled waters.

Kohli became the third batsman after Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni to complete 4000 runs in ODIs at home. "You still have to work hard for every run that you score at the global level", Kohli told BCCI.TV on Thursday. He is probably the number one in all three formats. However, Kohli has certainly taken this generation of cricket to a different level. In the last match, skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma had outclassed the Windies by scoring 140 and 150 runs in a destructive manner respectively. He has scored 1,684 runs, while the next in line - Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly - have scored 1,573, 1,348 and 1,142 respectively.
