Barcelona cruise past Inter without Messi

Barcelona cruise past Inter without Messi

"We are very happy for the match, against a team that was going to make things very hard for us, we played very well".

And before Barcelona still have to play in the Champions League against inter.

"This result is a great confidence boost for all of us and when Sunday brings the Clasico we'll be so up for it".

Barcelona's next match, their first showdown of the season with Real Madrid, is likely to be a more challenging test for the team, especially with Messi expected to still be unavailable due to his injury. It is a local match between two fierce rivals who struggle to dominate and claim the bragging rights in their locality.

The Portugal global departed for Juventus during the close season and this weekend's clash will be the first Clásico clash not to feature both Ronaldo and great rival Lionel Messi since 2007, with the latter having broken his arm against Sevilla.

It will be the first Clasico without either Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo since 2007.

The Spanish giants have endured a nightmare start to La Liga under new coach Julen Lopetegui and there is speculation that a change at the helm is imminent with Courtois' former Chelsea coaches Mourinho and Conte both linked with the Madrid job.

"Messi often gets us out of jail in hard games against low blocks and obviously we want him to get better as soon as possible".

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde held crunch talks with Arturo Vidal this week.

"They trust in me, and I trust even more in them", he said. We are a very good team, as are they.

We all know how famous El Clasico is, and as every hour passes by, football fans can't help but ask several questions regarding this great fixture.

"I have decided on my side but I won't say what it will be", Valverde said.

"For those in my profession, you can't change your attitude just for one player. It's clear that Messi is a different footballer".

"Of course we miss him, but we want to miss him while winning".
