Saudi Arabia admits Khashoggi murder was 'premeditated'

The Turkish fiancee of Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi has demanded that everyone responsible for his killing face justice.

After weeks of providing conflicting accounts, the kingdom last week said that he was killed "accidentally" in a fist fight at the consulate.

"Every day more truth is revealed related to the murder", the Jamal Khashoggi Friends Association said. She said everyone involved, "from the highest to the lowest level", should be punished.

Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, has declined an invitation to the White House from President Donald Trump.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan urged Saudi Arabia on Friday to disclose who ordered Khashoggi's murder, as well as the location of his body, heightening worldwide pressure on the kingdom to come clean on the case.

Turkish authorities are demanding that Saudi Arabia turn over over his body, which was allegedly dismembered, as well as the extradition of 18 suspects from Saudi Arabia, accusing the team of "murder by premeditation, monstrous intent, or by torture".

"On the issue of extradition, the individuals are Saudi nationals".

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, right, shakes hands with Salah Khashoggi, a son, of Jamal Khashoggi, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Oct. 23, 2018.

"Yes Trump invited me to the United States during the first days of the investigation" she said.

On Sunday she told reporters at her party headquarters that "I agree with all those who say when it comes to our already limited arms exports [to Saudi Arabia] that they can not take place in the current situation".

The Saudi public prosecutor Thursday said the murder of Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and critic of the kingdom's de facto ruler bin Salman, was premeditated, contradicting previous statements that his death was unintended.

"If I knew something like this would happen", she said.

"We believe that an global investigation must follow" because of the "nature of the crime, of the victim, of the people involved, the location of the alleged killing", Callamard said.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo this week announced moves against 21 Saudis to either revoke their visas or make them ineligible for US visas after the Khashoggi killing.

In response to the killing, Pompeo this week announced moves against 21 Saudis to either revoke their visas or make them ineligible for USA visas after the Khashoggi killing.

Saudi Arabia's chief prosecutor, Erdogan said, will arrive Sunday in Istanbul as part of the investigation.

Saudi Arabia is the lynchpin of a US-backed regional bloc against the growing Iranian influence in the Middle East but Khashoggi crisis has strained Riyadh's relations with the West.

Al-Jubeir addressed the Khashoggi case in a question-and-answer session, in which several reporters asked different questions about Saudi Arabia's handling of the case. Key mysteries remaining include whether the killing was carried out with the knowledge of the crown prince, who denies it, and the location of Khashoggi's body.
