Cristiano Ronaldo suggests that he would like to one day reunite with Wayne Rooney, who he partnered for five years at Manchester United.

Rooney, who retired from global football in 2017, will be part of the England squad that faces the United States at Wembley on 15 November.

The former Manchester United and Everton striker went to make another three appearances for England before calling time on his worldwide career on August 23, 2017.

News of Rooney's worldwide return comes from The Sun, who state that Rooney will be given the chance to captain England against the US on 15 November.

Shilton won 125 caps before retiring after the 1990 World Cup, when England reached the semi-finals - just as they did this summer.

England have confirmed that their all-time record-goalscorer Wayne Rooney will make a farewell appearance against the U.S. next week.
