Ex-President Obama unleashed a furious attack on the Trump administration and GOP-controlled Congress while campaigning in Miami Friday, accusing them of spreading lies, fear and distractions as the midterm elections approach.

Trump is rallying in support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis and Senate candidate Rick Scott, who are facing tough challenges in Tuesday's elections.

In Miami, Obama said democracy can't work when words stop having meaning, encouraging a crowd of about 3,000 to vote for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and Sen.

With just three days to go before the midterm elections, it's a tale of dueling presidents on the campaign trail. Obviously, we do not yet have any vote totals here, the night before the election, ' he noted.

"I voted for you", she replied.

The graphic appeared after a segment in which MSNBC's Joy Reid reported from Tallahassee praising Gillum's "energy" saying people were "excited" to vote for him.

Gillum leads 52 - 39 percent among independent voters and 93 - 4 percent among Democrats, as Republicans back DeSantis 93 - 4 percent. Elizabeth Warren, who is expected to cruise to re-election next week, echoed former President Barack Obama's criticism of Trump's chatter about ending birthright citizenship with the swipe of a pen. Early voting ended Sunday in South Florida.

President Donald Trump and Democrats are delivering competing closing arguments during the final weekend before Tuesday's elections, but their messages are complicated by a deadly shooting in a politically pivotal state.

While 6 percent of Florida likely voters remain undecided in this race, only 1 percent of voters who name a candidate say they might change their mind by tomorrow. Former Vice President Joe Biden was campaigning in OH with former Obama administration official Richard Cordray, who is attempting to become governor in a high-profile contest.

There's the Republican candidate arguing that his Democratic opponent won't stand up to Trump.

"If he can't keep the city of Tallahassee safe, he can't keep the citizens of the state of Florida safe". We're going to resoundingly reject that kind of politics.

"You know what, it's an old playbook", Obama said after another protester interrupted him.
