Tuesday's US midterm election resulted in Trump's Republicans strengthening their grip on the Senate.

Waving his finger, Trump berated him. "I'm not concerned about anything with the Russian Federation investigation because it's a hoax". Trump has also reportedly removed Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein from the investigation and appointed Matthew Whitaker as acting AG.

Trump made several references in his news conference to how he feels mistreated by the press.

A staff member struggled with him for his microphone during the exchange. I actually don't even know how to describe it.

Trump responded by labelling Mr Acosta a "rude, bad person". "You run CNN. And if you did it well, your ratings will be much higher".

It got worse from there.

"I would never do that and I don't use racist remarks", Trump told reporters in the East Room, adding that if he did, "You would've known about it".

A visibly angry President Donald Trump branded CNN's White House correspondent Jim Acosta a "rude, awful person" and an "enemy of the people" in a testy exchange on national television Wednesday the day after America's midterm elections. "You shouldn't be working for CNN", he said.

"You called yourself a nationalist, some people saw that as emboldening White Nationalists, some people say that now the Republican party is seen as supporting White Nationalists because of your rhetoric, what do you make of that?", Alcindor asked. "You shouldn't treat people that way".

Through all of this, an aide was trying to forcibly take the mic away from Acosta, which he wouldn't give up. However, this wound Trump up even more and he ended up saying he wasn't a huge fan of Alexander either. "You are not the best".

As a result, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, said in a statement: "President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration".
