Elections officials in Broward County, where Democrats have a large advantage, were still reviewing ballots Thursday. Both Scott and Nelson sought to get the courts to intervene.

Scott is now 15,000 votes ahead of incumbent Democratic Sen.

As the Chairman of the political law practice Perkins Coie, Elias represents almost all of the Democratic senators, according to RollCall, and his firm also represents the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Governors' Association as a whole.

"On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count".

President Trump himself has gone after Snipes, telling reporters Friday, "She has had a disgusting history ... and all of a sudden they're finding votes out of nowhere". Donald Trump, who never misses an opportunity to engage in some evidence-free voter fraud fearmongering, has accused Fusion GPS, the outfit behind the 2016 opposition research "dossier", of helping election officials find "votes out of nowhere".

As the ballot difference in the U.S. Senate race between Democratic incumbent Sen.

Department spokeswoman Gretl Pelssinger said Friday that the agency is working with the Department of State and will investigate any allegations of elections fraud, but right now there are no such allegations.

Trump later weighed in, tweeting Thursday evening: "Law Enforcement is looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach".

The margin in the Senate race of 0.18 percentage points meant the race was headed to a lengthy hand recount, triggered by law with margins of less than 0.25 percentage points.

The same is true in 2 Florida elections, for Senate and governor.

"Election officials are literally just counting the ballots".

The Republican Party on Friday sent an email fundraising appeal under Trump's name based on the Florida Senate race.

Georgia's Governor race is among those that are still open as Democratic candidate Stacy Abrams filed a lawsuit to have all absentee ballots that arrive before the end of Friday counted. He also requests Saturday's deadline to canvas ballots be extended until the legal matter is resolved. He also filed suit against Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher.

Scott's campaign wasted no time in responding to Elias, charging in a statement that Nelson and his lawyers are conducting "fraud" in fighting the current results.

In addition, protesters took to the sidewalks outside the county's election offices in Lauderhill to demand the ouster of Brenda Snipes, the supervisor of elections in Broward, who has faced a string of accusations over the last decade over mismanaged elections.

Nelson, who trails Gov. Rick Scott with a slim 0.18 percent margin, believes the final vote total will continue to move in his favor before a recount is called Saturday.

6 November in the United States underwent a mid-term election, which was elected 35 of the 100 senators, all 435 members of the house of representatives and 36 state governors and three governors of territories.

Elias says it's "not appropriate" for a governor to suggest he's going to use his powers to "interject his law enforcement authority to prevent the counting of ballots that have been legally cast".

Elias is an attorney for the campaign of Democratic U.S. Sen. A hearing was set for 3 p.m.in state court.
