Ultimately, Dez Bryant ended up winning the job.

Dez Bryant has been injured in just his second practice with New Orleans Saints and the newly acquired receiver has indicated in social media posts that he has had a significant setback.

"[And] you got a guy like Michael Thomas, [Benjamin] Watson, Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, you got those types of guys - little baby GOATs around here", said Bryant, who will be joining a 7-1 Saints team that has won seven straight games and ranks second in the National Football League in scoring.

Bryant acknowledged a setback in a tweet Friday afternoon, writing, "This is the ultimate test". "I won't question the man upstairs ... this is the ultimate test. thank you everyone for the prayers". He recorded three straight seasons of at least 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns from 2012 to 2014, and he earned Pro Bowl invites in 2013, 2014 and 2016.

"He's definitely one of those guys you have to watch if you're playing the receiver position", Thomas said.

Will Bryant, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys in April, similarly reward the Saints for bringing him aboard this week? It's like family. Every locker room that I've been in from middle school, high school, college to the pros, it's always been like a family.

But his production had been slipping in recent years as he battled foot and knee injuries; he had 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games last year. I'm not a bad guy. Plus, New Orleans just took down the Rams.

Bryant said he does not feel like he has something to prove after the way things ended in Dallas.

The signing sets the stage for Bryant to play in Dallas when the Saints visit the Cowboys for a Thursday night game on November 29.

Bryant said he is "not at all" bitter about his departure from the Cowboys, adding, "That chapter's closed".
