Meanwhile, City were demolishing West Ham 4-0 at the London Stadium, as they kept up their sensational start to the season and extended their goal difference to +35 after just 13 games.

Speaking ahead of his sides clash against Chelsea this evening at Wembley Pochettino has revealed that his club are more concerned about competing with the teams above them in the table as opposed to those below.

"Not at the moment, no", Sarri said when asked if January signings would make Chelsea challengers more quickly.

"If they win this, Spurs go above the Blues, which is an extra incentive - not that they need it, because there is not too much love lost between the two sides".

Insulting the Gunners will always play well among Tottenham fans, and Pochettino is playing the crowd perfectly by belittling the north London derby and indicating that Chelsea is now Spurs' biggest rival. I think that changed a little bit.

Conte spoke of his admiration for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

"How we closed down the game was just brilliant, especially the third goal", said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

But when the subject of the Denmark player's contract expiring came up, Sarri interjected.

Jose Mourinho was even moved to question his players' heart on the back of a result which left them as close to leaders Manchester City as bottom club Huddersfield, as a hard season for the manager and his side continued.

After this game, follows a Europa League game against PAOK where Chelsea have the luxury of resting the bigger names.

Even so, Sarri, a personal friend of Guardiola, believes there is still a gap to close before Chelsea can challenge City for the title.

"He is a very technical player".

"It's not a tactical problem".

'The problem was that the opponents were more aggressive, more determined than us, ' he added.

"We don't care about other teams".

There was a point midway through the second half when within the same minute Harry Kane and Dele Alli held their heads in their hands. We have to approach the match in a different way in terms of application and determination.

Chelsea have some undisclosed doubts, with Mateo Kovacic (ankle) expected to be in contention.
