MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski apologizes for homophobic comment

"I understand that Donald Trump doesn't care", Brzezinski said on the air Wednesday morning.

In response to the apology from Brzezinski, Grenell replied via Twitter: "accepting apologies is important".

"Trump added on Twitter, ".She will probably be given a pass, despite their awful ratings.

The Hill media reporter Joe Concha quoted Trump's tweet and wrote, "He's not wrong".

Back in January 2017, the feud escalated when Trump called Brzezinski "crazy" and took a shot at her over a supposed face-lift.

Well and good. She should apologize.

Brzezinski was in the middle of sounding off on Pompeo's refusal to condemn Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his reported role in the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, when she made a decision to use a really bad choice of words.

Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski expressed regret for her choice of words.

UPDATE: 1:57 P.M.: After initially declining comment on Brzezinski's absence, MSNBC said Scarborough's reason for her not being on the program was correct.

President Donald Trump unloaded on MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski Thursday for calling his secretary of state "a wannabe dictator's butt boy".

Grennell had criticized Brezinski - who quickly apologized for her remarks Wednesday - for using the term, which is considered a slur against gays.

When asked Thursday whether she plans to return to television, Kelly confidently said: 'You'll be seeing me'.

It's not the first time Brzezinski has been slammed by Trump.

"Try "toadie" or "lackey" or "stool pigeon" or 'ass kisser, ' or 'traitor, ' but maybe don't equate homosexuality with Mike Pompeo carrying water for the murderous regime in Saudi Arabia", he wrote.

There was condemnation of Brzezinski's remarks on Twitter; one leftist critic stated, "I was with you, @morningmika, right up to the "butt boy" comment". Nowadays the "Morning Joe" hosts question Trump's mental fitness and ability to run the country on a regular basis.

MSNBC stood by Reid and she continues to host a show on the network.
