Sanchez slams 'false' claims of Mourinho sack bet

Former United striker Solskjaer was drafted in from Molde to replace Jose Mourinho, who was sacked on Tuesday after a 3-1 loss to Liverpool left the club 19 points off top spot in the Premier League.

Mourinho fell out with Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly and he demoted Alexis Sanchez to the bench in his final weeks in charge.

The club now sits in sixth place in the Premier League table, 19 points adrift of leaders Liverpool, and that is a situation Solskjaer hopes to address quickly.

"You play with courage, go out there and express your skills".

"I think Ole is very good at doing that, he's got a football brain and he knows tactically what to do".

"Taking on a temporary coaching role at Manchester United is extremely exciting", he said on the club's website, but added that he was "still a Mariner".

Solskjaer has limited experience as a Premier League manager following a challenge spell in charge of Cardiff City in the 2013-14 season.

He also promised fans that he would "give everything" to "bring the club success" and get players "enjoying football".

Chelsea face Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday and Sarri has confirmed he'll be without Andreas Christensen but insists he won't be sold in the January transfer window.

"I think Barcelona yesterday signed a new centre-back [Jeison Murillo from Valencia]". His team selection for the game at Cardiff will be significant and very interesting!

He said: "You certainly get to see the players in a game, in a pressure situation, but I think the amount of games coming up is no problem because you've got this unbelievable squad of players".

"I've evaluated, reflected, made a few mistakes but if you don't make mistakes you're not going to learn".

For me, I want Solskjaer to stay at United and Pochettino to stay at Spurs.

'The coach has changed and it will be a different playing style - they're in the process of changing things up - but we know the quality they have. "He carries himself brilliantly with the media, he promotes young players but most importantly he wins a lot of games of football".
