India beat Australia in third Test by 137 runs

The victory marked India's 150th Test win.

It all started on the first Day of the opening Test match when O'Keefe, who has picked 53 wickets in 24 Tests, said on-air while commentating in the ongoing Test series that "Apparently, he got the triple (ton) against the Railways canteen staff", referring to debutant Mayank Agarwal. Indian captain Virat Kohli couldn't agree more.

Border feels the current crop of bowlers makes India a unsafe team especially in conditions that are conducive to fast bowlers. "The three fast bowlers have broken the record for most wickets by pacers in a calendar year for a team, which is brilliant", Kohli was all praise for his speed merchants. "There's a little bit from our side, you've also got to give them a huge amount of credit for the way they've been bowling as a group in this series and probably the last 12 months".

But he only added two more to be out for a career-best 63 to follow his career-best 6-27 with the ball and be one of the few successes for Australia.

"India batted superbly in the first innings and from that moment we were behind the game", admitted Australian skipper Tim Paine.

For Bumrah, 48 wickets in his debut Test season is highest by any pace bowler and also is a testimony to a lethal pace trio involving the veteran Ishant Sharma and the wily Mohammed Shami (2/71), who also played his part well. Such has been their dominance.

We're not playing well enough under pressure when it matters - that's a fact whether it's Twenty20, one-day cricket or Test cricket. Stressing on the need to get Smith and Warner back in the fold as soon as possible, Paine said: "If you took Pujara and Virat out of India's side, I think you'd have the same conversation". I always focus on consistency. They haven't seen the wicket, so I guess they're covering themselves a little bit but the SCG is not the traditional dust bowl that it used to be.

"It blows me away when a team gets bowled out for a 160 and 260 on a very good batting wicket". As players our job is to play cricket and turn up where we are supposed to turn up.

"I mean in Test cricket, if there is a pitch like Perth, I won't want to face Jasprit Bumrah to be honest because once he is on a roll he can really crank it up". After declaring for 443, it was always going to be a tough ask for Australia, whose batting fragility has shone through amply through the three Tests, and a deteriorating pitch wasn't doing the hosts any favours.

"If he can bat time and hole one end up, and all the other batsmen can bat positively around him, we get 350, touching 400, in conditions in Australia, which puts us in a great position to get a result".
